How LocalGuideX Protects Trust

Clear answers for users, business owners, contributors, and community members who want to understand how information is used, protected, and what behaviour is expected on the platform.

Privacy Questions

These answers explain what information LocalGuideX handles and how we use it to operate the directory.

What information does LocalGuideX collect?

We collect account details such as your email address, business listing details you submit, reviews, claim details, calendar submissions, promotion requests, payout request details, and technical information needed to keep the site secure and working.

Why do you collect this information?

We use it to run the directory, publish approved business listings, verify ownership claims, moderate reviews and suggestions, process promotion requests, manage rewards, prevent spam or fraud, and contact you about your account or submissions.

What information becomes public?

Approved business listing details, public reviews, calendar events, offers, suburb/state information, websites, phone numbers, and other details intended for the directory may become public. Account emails, claim evidence, payout details, admin notes, and private verification material are not shown publicly.

Do you sell personal data?

No. LocalGuideX does not sell personal data. We use information to provide and protect the platform, not to sell personal profiles.

Who can access private submission details?

Private details are limited to the account owner where relevant and authorised LocalGuideX admins who need access for review, support, verification, fraud prevention, or platform operations.

How is my data protected?

The platform uses authenticated accounts, server-side access checks, database row-level security, rate limits, protected admin routes, HTTPS, security headers, and limited admin workflows. Sensitive operational secrets are kept server-side.

Where is data stored?

LocalGuideX uses trusted cloud providers for hosting, authentication, database, storage, and email delivery. These providers may process data in Australia or overseas depending on their infrastructure and service configuration.

What third-party services are involved?

The platform may use services such as Vercel for hosting, Supabase for authentication, database, and storage, email delivery providers for notifications, payment or banking references for promotions and rewards, and Google Maps links for directions or public review references.

Can I correct or delete my information?

You can update owned business listings from your dashboard. For account data, claim evidence, reviews, suggestions, or deletion requests, contact support@localguidex.com.au so we can review the request and handle it where legally and operationally possible.

How long do you keep information?

We keep information for as long as needed to run the directory, meet legal or accounting needs, prevent abuse, resolve disputes, and maintain review or moderation history. Some public listing data may remain until updated, removed, or rejected.

How are reviews and suggestions handled?

Reviews and community suggestions are moderated before publication or reward approval. Rejected or pending material is not shown publicly as approved content, but it may be retained for quality, abuse prevention, and support history.

How are business claims verified?

Claim forms may ask for contact details, a short explanation, and optional evidence. Admins use this information to assess whether the requester appears connected to the business before assigning listing ownership.

Do you use automated decisions?

LocalGuideX uses filters, duplicate checks, search ranking, rate limits, and admin tooling to support the platform. Important publishing, claim, promotion, and payout decisions are designed to involve admin review rather than fully automated approval.

How do I raise a privacy concern?

Email support@localguidex.com.au with the email used on your account, the page or listing involved, and what you want corrected, removed, or reviewed. We will review privacy requests and respond as reasonably as possible.

Will this page change?

Yes. We will update this page when our privacy practices, features, service providers, or legal obligations change. The latest version will stay available from the website footer.
